Introduction:

 

A. Theme scripture, bookmark: Isaiah 40:30-31

 

1. Distribute.

 

2. Discuss.

 

I.  Leading A Song

 

A. Think about who does a noticeable job of Leading Singing.

 

1. Watch for a skill that you would like to develop.

 

2. Be a "good finder."

 

3. Be ready to vote for a winner.

 

B.  Begin the Song Leading

 

D. Evaluate, reinforce, compliment after each speaker.

 

E. Vote for winner to be presented at conclusion of class.

 

1. Hand out voting cards.

 

2. Vote for one person.

 

 

II. HOW TO PRESENT AN IDEA TO THE ELDERS OR A COMMITTEE MEETING.

 

A. One of the reasons that churches become stagnate is because the leadership becomes stagnate. 

 

            1. Enter the role with enthusiasm, and ideas for directing the church.

 

                        a. Over time both wane.

 

            2. Leaders need help

           

                        a. With ideas

 

                        b. You will be excited about your idea and will provide enthusiasm

 

                        c. Enthusiasm is contagious.

 

                                    1. So is apathy.

 

 

B. Show why this proposal is needed and the advantages of it.

 

1. This is the main point.

 

a. Is it needed?

 

b. Will it help the cause of Christ?

 

2. In showing the need and advantage, give evidence instead of just making claims.

 

a. An exhibit.

 

b. A demonstration.

 

c. An analogy.

 

d. Statistics.

 

e. Expert testimony.

 

f. An incident type example.

 

3. If sufficient need is clearly shown, everything else can be arranged.

 

C. Present details in taking advantage of this opportunity and how they can be worked out.

 

1. If it is something to be bought tell:

 

a. How much it cost

 

b. Where it can be bought

 

c. When it can be purchased and put to use.

 

2. If the-idea involves people to participate tell:

 

a. How many will be needed

 

b. Suggest a good time to do it.

 

D. State you faith in the idea and the good that it will do.

 

E. Commit your support in seeing this project completed.

 

 

Conclusion:

 

A. Next Weeks Class: Plan to present an idea that you would like to see carried out in this congregation.

 

B. Next week we will discuss procedures for baptisms.

 

C. Award prize.
